My boyfriend just bought a new car (honda s2000) going on a month.

Well he got in a wreck with another vehicle which sped away from the crime scene. My question is he has full coverage and gap insurance. And the towing car said his car was totaled but he's not sure(my boyfriend). Will he get covered if it is totaled? What will happen? Please help!
